We’ve got the details for Amy’s performance at V this weekend. She’ll play the 4Music stage in Chelmsford on Saturday between 3.25pm and 4pm before heading to the Staffordshire site the following day where’ll she play the same slot. Just this week Amy wowed a ‘hard’ crowd of American radio programmers when she played Springsteen's ‘Dancing in the Dark’ at a Colorado showcase and along with an NPR (national radio) session she’ll also be appearing in US Elle magazine this month as the ‘album to trust’, which is pretty timely as she releases ‘This Is The Life’ in the states on Aug 19. Meanwhile closer to home you’ll see her soon on the cover of S Magazine (Sunday Express) and later this week she’ll be at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium to celebrate the fact she’s reached no 1 with her ‘This Is The Life’ single.

Amy’s launches album Stateside

After a year launching her career in the UK and Europe and a million album sales later, Amy has set her sights on the USA where she is poised to break out as one of the summer’s new stars with the release of her US album debut This is the Life (August 19th, Decca). Established in the UK as one of the leading female signer songwriters and live performers, Amy will introduce the U.S to her intricate songwriting and musical delivery by digging deep, sounding gritty and taking cues from rock influences such as The Killers, Travis and The Libertines.

The Boston Globe just described Amy as “a 20-year-old lass with a guitar, a strong will, thick eyeliner, and a voice that snaps you to attention.” MacDonald is on the rootsier side of pop... Her songwriting themes are universal, but her perspective is decidedly youthful... We give her a year before she's headlining the Orpheum.”

Please look for This is the Life in stores 8/19/08.
